TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN (K4)

My name is Mrs. Christina Awad. I have been teaching at St. Mary School since 2010 and have been the Transitional Kindergarten teacher since 2011.I love teaching TK because of all the exploring, learning, reading, and fun we get to have! I love to see the joy on the students’ faces when we do science experiments. I have two wonderful children and in our free time we enjoy crafting, cooking, swimming, and exploring Southern California. I'm pleased to call St. Mary School my second home since we all treat each other like family.

My philosophy of teaching is simple. I aim to provide a safe, comfortable, stimulating, fun, and educational environment with a structured day plan. Activities will include free playtime, structured playtime, gross (large) motor skills playtime, fine (small) motor skills activities, story time and theater activities, arts and crafts, music and dance activities, nature and ecology awareness, nutrition, cultural activities, and other educational yet fun activities. I will also encourage good personal hygiene skills and manners.

PRE-K (K3)

Hello, my name is Ms. Claudia, and I am so excited to be the Pre-k teacher at St. Mary’s School. I was born in Guadalajara, Mexico to four younger brothers. My passion and love for children led me to major in child development. I have four years of experience working with children ages four and five years-old, which taught some tricks to keeping the children learning and enjoying school. I have a Boxer- Bulldog named Zuna. I love traveling and eating sushi wherever and whenever I can. I am looking forward to getting to know your children and helping them build the skills needed to succeed in their education.
